Collegiate Commissions project

The Collegiate Commissions Project (CCP) is a combination of two things I am extremely passionate about; teaching music, and the commissioning and performance of new works.  While many professional organizations and solo musicians sponsor the creation of incredible compositions, the level of difficulty often limits their exposure to both performers and audiences.  The goal of this project is to facilitate the creation of new works for various trombone combinations (solo, quartet, trombone choir, etc) that are approachable by accomplished undergraduate level trombonists, one of the largest consumers of such works.

Each composition in this project is funded by a consortium of professional trombone educators from across the United States (possibly farther!) with diverse backgrounds and the ability to perform and share these new works with future generations of trombonists.  Consortium premieres have taken place at the International Trombone Festival, American Trombone Workshop, University of Florida International Brass Festival, Southeast Trombone Symposium, Texas Music Educators Association Convention, Georgia Trombone Summit, and numerous on-campus performances by members at their home school.

Below are links to information about each commission including the consortium members who sponsored the work and information about the composer and the piece itself.

If you are a composer interested in writing a piece or a trombonist interested in helping to sponsor a consortium, please feel free to contact me.
